Discover life at Burpengary Manor in October 2025. From celebrating 58 years of marriage to Bribie Island butterfly visits, Halloween fun and community art projects. Quality aged care in North Brisbane, Queensland.
October 2025 brought meaningful celebrations and community connections to Burpengary Manor Aged Care. From a remarkable 58-year wedding anniversary to creative art projects and seasonal festivities, our residents enjoyed a month filled with joy, creativity and genuine connection.
Celebrating 58 Years Together
Two wonderful residents who share the same birthday, born just one year apart, celebrated their incredible 58 years of marriage. At our North Brisbane aged care facility, we believe celebrating decades of life built together matters deeply. Fifty-eight years represents a lifetime of shared experiences, commitment and partnership.
Bribie Island Adventures
Bribie Island featured twice in October. Residents enjoyed a lovely lunch at Sunset Pier, taking in beautiful water views with good food and relaxed atmosphere. The Butterfly House proved so popular we made two trips, with residents spending delightful mornings surrounded by butterflies in flight. These Morton Bay outings create opportunities for residents to enjoy natural beauty whilst remaining comfortable and connected to their community.
Community Art Project Success
We successfully completed our community art project in partnership with Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre. Residents painted on canvas with staff participating and lending support. The finished pieces now proudly display on our wall. This Queensland aged care collaboration demonstrated creativity, partnership and the satisfaction of completing a meaningful project together.
Halloween Fun Across Generations
Halloween brought festivity throughout late October. Residents enjoyed sorting lollies in preparation, with a few treats sampled along the way. The celebration included morning tea with kindy children from Lead Childcare Rothwell, staff dressing up, lolly shop purchases and trick-or-treating with families. Rob Stevenson entertained everyone with Halloween-themed music, adding seasonal flavour to the festivities.
Music, Wellbeing and Community Support
Music filled our spaces with Gerry performing on electric keyboard and regular music therapy sessions. Pampering continued with hand massages, face masks and gardening activities. Staff and residents wore pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, with raffles and donations supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation. These activities honour resident wellbeing whilst supporting important causes.
