November 2025: Burpengary Manor Community

November 2025 at Burpengary Manor Aged Care. Our first Remembrance Day service with kindy children, Elvis performances, R U OK? Day and Brisbane Motor Museum visits. Quality aged care in Burpengary, QLD.

November 2025 brought meaningful moments to Burpengary Manor Aged Care. From our first Remembrance Day service with kindy children to Elvis performances and creative activities, residents enjoyed diverse experiences honouring connection, autonomy and community.

Remembrance Day: A Special Intergenerational Service

November brought a particularly meaningful Remembrance Day observance. This year was especially significant as kindy children from Lead Childcare Rothwell joined us for the first time. The younger generation learned about respect and remembrance, laying wreaths in honour of those who gave so much. The service included a morning concert, wreath laying and at 11:00am everyone paused for one minute of silence. We're grateful to Caboolture RSL for their partnershipin this important North Brisbane aged care commemoration. Lest we forget.

R U OK? Dayand Community Wellbeing

We recognised R U OK? Day, reminding everyone to check in with those around us. A simple question can open doors to support, connection and care. At our Queensland aged care facility, we believe mental health and emotional wellbeing matter as much as physical health. The day reinforced our commitment to creating community where people feel seen and heard.

Men's Groupand Elvis Entertainment

Strathpine Aged Care joined our Men's Group to make salt and pepper holders together. The afternoon brought laughter, connection and new friendships across facilities. An Elvis tribute performer delighted residents, bringing back wonderful memories through music from their younger years. These performances connec tresidents with cultural touchstones from their generation, unlocking memories and creating shared joy.

Brisbane Motor Museum and Personal History

Residents enjoyed an outing to Brisbane Motor Museum followed by lunch. The visit brought special memories for one resident who recalled driving an EH Holden as his first taxi. For residents who drove these vehicles, the museum becomes a walk through their own past, honouring life experiences and creating opportunities for storytelling.

Creative Activities and Resident Autonomy

Regular activities continued throughout November. Residents enjoyed knitting and natter sessions, cooking activities, craft projects, music therapy, morning exercise and nail care. Shopping trips to Glenda's store honoured resident autonomy and independence. A ladies' pampering day included a bus outing where one resident spontaneously sang, adding joy to the day.

Preparing for Christmas

As November closed, we prepared for Residents' Christmas Parties scheduled throughout December. These celebrations bring our Morton Bay aged care community together to mark the holiday season whilst regular activities continue.

Life at Burpengary Manor

From Remembrance Day with kindy children to Elvis performances and motor museum visits, life atBurpengary Manor balances scheduled programmes with spontaneous joy, honouring dignity, autonomy and genuine connection.
