Discover how Burpengary Manor Aged Care celebrated a vibrant September with music, garden projects, school visits, and heartfelt community events.
September was a truly special month at Burpengary Manor Aged Care, filled with moments of joy, connection, and celebration. From meaningful commemorations to lively community visits, our residents enjoyed a rich calendar of activities that brought smiles, laughter, and lasting memories.
We began the month with a celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the first car journey around Australia, where one of our 102-year-old residents reminisced with pride. Our lush garden also remained a hub of activity, with residents harvesting fresh strawberries, planting new greenery, and even building a fairy garden — a collaborative project embraced by families and residents alike.
Father’s Day was celebrated with games of chess and poker, followed by lunch and raffles, while R U OK? Day reminded us of the importance of checking in on each other, fostering deeper emotional connections within our community.
Creative and enriching experiences were enjoyed throughout the month. From music therapy, cooking sessions, and pampering mornings to arts and crafts, knitting, and nail care, our residents engaged in activities that not only encouraged self-expression but also built stronger social bonds.
Children from local schools brought an abundance of joy during their visits, performing concerts and working side by side with residents in the garden, helping build a potato tower. The laughter shared across generations was heartwarming.
Our residents also enjoyed multiple bus trips to Redcliffe, Woody Point, and Donnybrook, taking in seaside views and sharing ice cream treats. A trip to the lolly shop stirred nostalgic memories of childhood, reminding us of the simple pleasures of life.
Through every concert, garden harvest, and shared conversation, Burpengary Manor Aged Care remains a place where community spirit thrives and every day offers an opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate life.
