Discover the joy-filled March at Burpengary Manor bus trips, music, gardening, therapy dogs, and vibrant community moments for our aged care residents.
March at Burpengary Manor was filled with laughter, music, movement and meaningful moments that brought our community even closer together. From scenic adventures to joyful therapy dog visits, every day offered something special for residents to enjoy.
We kicked off many mornings with refreshing group exercises, setting the tone for energetic and positive days. Residents loved our scenic bus trips to Bribie Island and beyond; soaking in the coastal views, fresh sea breezes, and finishing off with a sweet treat from McDonald's. Closer to home, our day trips to Woodford, Peachester and Beerwah were equally relaxing, with plenty of scenic sights and smiles along the way.
The month was bursting with creative and social activities. From crafting afternoons and music-filled mornings to indoor bowls, bingo, and floor games, there was always something fun on the go. Our Memory Support residents especially enjoyed the energy of Grace’s music therapy sessions, and found joy in the wide variety of stimulating activities.
St. Patrick’s Day was a highlight, celebrated with hearty Irish meals, lively music, an armchair journey through Ireland, and even a potato toss! We’re grateful to our kitchen team for their delicious efforts, and to the student helpers who brought fresh enthusiasm to our gardening group.
Speaking of gardening, our green thumbs have been so active that we’ve expanded to include a greenhouse! It’s a beautiful new space for our residents to nurture their passion for plants and enjoy time outdoors.
There were plenty of special visits this month, too. Tyson and Xena, our beloved therapy dogs, made regular appearances, bringing calm and cuddles wherever they went. We also had a cheerful visit from some entertaining clowns, who had everyone laughing with their tricks and silly antics. And the adorable furry possums that came to say hello truly made our day!
We continued building community connections with a delightful morning tea hosted by the Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre during Harmony Week. It was a wonderful time to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and friendship over delicious food.
Whether it was cooking up tasty Welsh cakes, enjoying cappuccinos on a rainy day, or relaxing with morning tea at Bunnings, March was filled with heartfelt connections, vibrant activities, and plenty of joy. Burpengary Manor Aged Care continues to be a place where laughter, love, and community spirit thrive every day.
