May was a wonderful, special month full of connections, joy, and loads of community activities in Burpengary. The activities calendar had never had so many events that united residents and visitors while gathering to laugh, learn, and share experiences, all of which deepened the connections that make our community special.
The month began with a lovely visit from Strathpine Aged Care, who attended our weekly gardening group and had a lovely guided walk, and afternoon tea in the Café. The conversation flowed as freely as the tea, and the gardens provided a peaceful backdrop for a beautiful afternoon.
Mother's Day celebrations were in true Burpengary fashion with a week of pampering, a special High Tea, flowers, decorations, and the heartfelt sentiments to celebrate the wonderful women we have in our community. Residents had entertainment, raffles, live music, and were able to spend time reflecting with others in a warm and happy environment, it was the essence of Burpengary.
Some of the activities and performances for residents included music, exercise programmes, indoor bowls, and bingo sessions; there was one particular performance by Rob Stevenson that had everybody cheering. We also acknowledged International Nurses Day with a shout out of appreciation for our nursing team, who every day make such a big difference through their care and commitment.
