Burpengary Manor Community Engagement: A Month of Connection and Shared Moments

At Burpengary Manor, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. Throughout March, our home has been filled with meaningful moments, shared experiences, and genuine connection between residents, staff, families, and the wider community.

From lively games to thoughtful celebrations, each day has offered new opportunities to come together and enjoy life in a warm and welcoming environment.
Residents have been enjoying friendly rounds of bingo, where laughter and light-hearted competition have brought people together in the best way. These simple yet meaningful activities continue to foster connection and create a sense of belonging within the home.

We also introduced an exciting new chapter with our refreshed look and updated website. While our appearance is evolving, our commitment remains unchanged — to provide high-quality care and create a place where people feel truly at home. This update reflects our ongoing focus on improving how we connect with residents and families.

Spending time outdoors has been another highlight, with residents enjoying peaceful afternoons in the garden. The fresh air and sunshine have provided the perfect setting for conversation, relaxation, and quiet moments of reflection.

A standout moment this month was our St Patrick’s Day celebration, featuring a talented solo bagpiper who brought both traditional and modern sounds to life. Residents joined in গান and enjoyed a festive afternoon tea, making it a truly memorable occasion.

Outings have continued to play an important role in strengthening our community connections. A visit to Bellmere Strawberry Farm morning tea offered a refreshing change of scenery, while a heartwarming trip to a childcare centre in Rothwell created beautiful intergenerational connections, leaving everyone uplifted.

Back at the Manor, residents have taken an active role in shaping daily life. From leading their own morning exercise session to sharing skills like knitting, these moments highlight the value of participation, independence, and learning from one another.

Creativity and unity were on full display during our Harmony Tree activity, where residents and staff contributed to a shared artwork celebrating diversity and inclusion. This was complemented by our Harmony Week celebration, with staff proudly wearing orange and the kitchen preparing themed treats, reinforcing a strong sense of respect and belonging.

Food has also been a wonderful way to bring people together. Residents and staff enjoyed working side by side during our pancake cooking day, creating not only delicious treats but also lasting memories filled with laughter and teamwork.

As Easter approached, the Manor came alive with joy. The Easter Bunny visit brought smiles and a sense of fun, while the Easter egg hunt with kindy children created meaningful connections across generations, reminding us all of the importance of shared experiences.

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, a country bus trip offered a relaxing opportunity to take in the scenery and enjoy each other’s company in a calm and reflective setting.

We also celebrated the release of our Summer Newsletter, capturing the stories, humour, and voices that make our community so special — from lively debates to personal histories that continue to inspire us all.

Less words, more moments! Watch our March reel and see the month in pictures.
