Life at Burpengary Manor Aged Care: May 2026 highlights

May 2026 was one of those months at Burpengary Manor Aged Care that reminded all of us why we love this community so much. Across four wonderful weeks, we shared milestones, laughter, music, outings, and plenty of heartfelt moments together.

We kicked things off with a visit to the lolly shop that brought back the fondest of memories, a round of the Chicken Dance that had everyone on their feet, and a brand-new windmill installed in the garden for all to enjoy.

Throughout the month our residents kept wonderfully busy. Cooking sessions, knitting circles, afternoon exercise, music therapy, and friendly games of pool all featured on the activity calendar. It was lovely to see so many of us staying active, creative, and connected.

We marked Breast Cancer Awareness Day in the most fitting way, with our wonderful ladies channelling their care and teamwork into baking cupcakes together. Their effort and spirit meant so much to everyone involved.

One of the most special moments of the month came when one of our dearest residents celebrated her 100th birthday. Surrounded by family, staff, and fellow residents, the day was filled with joy, cherished memories, and every bit of love she deserves. Wishing her many more beautiful moments ahead.

Mother’s Day was a true highlight. We gathered for a beautiful high tea, drew our Mother’s Day raffles, and spent the day wrapped in warmth and great company. It was exactly the kind of occasion this community does so well.

We also paused on International Nurses Day to say a heartfelt thank you to our incredible nursing team. Your compassion, dedication, and kindness are noticed and appreciated every single day. We are so grateful for you.

The month also included a scenic bus trip through the local area, a pampering session full of laughter and good company, a walk to the shops with a stop at a local cafe, and visits from kindy children whose energy and smiles delighted everyone they met.

We also celebrated one of our beloved staff members before she headed off on maternity leave, sending her into this exciting new chapter with all our best wishes and plenty of love.

May had it all, and we would not have had it any other way. We are so grateful to share this community together.
